GMDC-GVT's contribution to Bharuch's "My Livable City" initiative enhancing urban liveability through strategic partnerships

GMDC-GVT contributed to enhance urban liveability through strategic partnerships with its support to Bharuch’s “My Livable City” initiative. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of life in the urban areas through well-planned and executed efforts for cleaning of the identified roads, beautification of the city and awareness dissemination through IEC campaigns. In alignment with this vision, GMDC-GVT provided financial contribution of ₹ 25,00,000 to the “My Livable City” initiative, undertaken by the District Administration of Bharuch.

The “My Livable City” initiative is a comprehensive urban development program aimed at transforming Bharuch into a cleaner, more beautiful and livable city. With a population of around 20 lakh, Bharuch is a bustling district that requires well-planned and executed efforts to address urban challenges and improve the overall living environment.

Objectives of the "My Liveable City" Initiative

The initiative focuses on several key objectives to enhance the livability of Bharuch, including:

  • Cleaning Identified Roads: Ensuring that all major roads in Bharuch, as well as the areas of Zadeshwar, Nandelav and Bholav, are regularly cleaned and maintained.

  • Beautification Projects: Beautifying main walls and flyovers to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city.

  • Awareness Dissemination: Spreading awareness among citizens through Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities about the importance of cleanliness and urban upkeep.

The “My Livable City” initiative resulted in creating a cleaner and healthier urban environment, enhancement in visual appeal of the district, fostering a culture of cleanliness and generate a sense of citizenship amongst 20 lakh citizens.
