GMDC-Gramya Vikas Trust’s sports initiatives are designed to support and enhance sporting activities across GMDC Project Locations in Odisha and Gujarat, ensuring that athletes and sports enthusiasts have the resources and opportunities they need to excel.
Focusing on organising and supporting local sports events, GMDC-GVT has provided assistance for numerous cricket and kabaddi tournaments. These events are aimed bring together communities and provide a platform for showcasing local talent. Our recent initiatives in Gujarat include:
- Cricket Kit Donation to Ambod Gram Panchayat, Bharuch
- Cricket Tournament at Tadkeshwar, Bharuch
- Kabaddi Tournament at Fluorspar Project, Kadipani
- Cricket Tournament at Fluorspar Project, Kadipani
GMDC-GVT supported mountaineer Ms. Seema Bhagat, aiding her ambitious expedition to Mt. Everest. This support underscores our commitment to empowering athletes to achieve their highest aspirations.
Recognising the importance of quality sports infrastructure, GMDC-GVT has invested in the renovation and enhancement of sports facilities. Key projects include:
- Renovation of Tennis Court, Ahmedabad
- Support to Squash Racket Association
- Sansad Yuva Tennis Cricket Tournament, Tadkeshwar
In line with GMDC Ltd.’s expansion in Odisha, GMDC-GVT is actively engaging in entry-point activities to foster community goodwill and support sports initiatives. Our contributions in Odisha include:
- Financial Support for Sport Activity in Chhendipada Block, Angul District
- Improvement of Cricket Field at Podapoda
- Provision of Sports Equipment
- State-Level Cricket Tournament in Chhendipada
- Volleyball Tournament by Mission Shakti Café
In total, approximately 2000 people were benefitted through Sports initiatives in Gujarat and Odisha.
