Ensuring Cleanliness and Hygiene through Public Sanitation Facilities

Recognising the crucial need for proper sanitation facilities for community members, truck drivers & cleaners transporting minerals out of the GMDC mines, National Sanitation & Environment Improvement Foundation (NASA) has built toilet blocks at GMDC’s Lignite Projects in Mata No Madh, Kachchh and Rajpardi, Bharuch. GMDC-GVT provides maintenance support to ensure proper and hygienic sanitation facilities. The initiative ensures the maintenance, operation and housekeeping of toilet blocks located near GMDC’s Lignite Projects in Mata No Madh, Kachchh and Rajpardi, Bharuch.

With a yearly footfall of 12000 beneficiaries using these public toilet facilities, the maintenance and operation of these toilet blocks aims to:

  • Provide Hygienic Facilities: Ensuring that truck drivers, cleaners and community members have access to clean and safe sanitation facilities.

  • Promote Personal Hygiene: Encouraging proper hygiene practices among users, reducing the risk of health issues related to poor sanitation.

  • Prevent Environmental Pollution and Health Hazards:Constructing toilet blocks with proper waste disposal mechanisms to minimise environmental pollution, prevent water contamination and the spread of diseases.

By providing essential sanitation facilities, GMDC-GVT supports the well-being of truck drivers, cleaners and villagers, showcasing our commitment to community welfare and sustainable development.
