GMDC - Samarthya project, initiated on 1st January 2023, is an Employment Oriented Skill Training Program, designed to offer skill training and employment opportunities to 3,000 youth in Gujarat over the period of three years. Focusing on the skill development of youth from the areas surrounding GMDC’s area of operations, over 1,675 candidates have been registered for different courses offered under the project by May 2024. Training has commenced for 45 batches at various GMDC - Samarthya training centres in Kachchh, Bhavnagar, Surat, Bharuch and Panchmahal districts. In line with the expansion of GMDC Ltd. in the state of Odisha, GMDC-GVT is also implementing GMDC - Samarthya Project in Angul and Sundargarh Districts of Odisha.
The GMDC - Samarthya project aims to enhance the employability of individuals by equipping them with industry-relevant skills and knowledge.

These courses are designed to meet job market demands, ensuring participants acquire the necessary skills to excel in their chosen fields.
The program follows a structured curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training. Developed in consultation with industry experts, the training modules ensure that the skills taught are current and align with industry standards. Participants benefit from hands-on training, simulations, real-world case studies and on-the-job training, which enhance their practical understanding and prepare them for real-world challenges in their respective fields. Additionally, candidates are also provided residential facilities.
One of the key strengths of the GMDC - Samarthya program is its focus on holistic development. Alongside technical skills, participants receive training in essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving and leadership. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants develop a well-rounded skill set, making them highly attractive to employers and better prepared for diverse workplace environments.
Upon completion of the training program, participants receive certifications from the Sector Skill Council, Government of India, which are recognised by industry partners and employers. The program also offers placement assistance, connecting trained individuals with job opportunities in reputed companies.
